BUAD-495: Practicum in Business Issues (Internship)

Application

The Practicum in Business Issues (Internship) course combines classroom discussion and field application of business theories and practices. This course is taken in conjunction with an internship. Internships may be obtained through the regular methods of finding employment (e.g. Career Center, Marshall Career Source, networking, etc.). The student must complete all class assignments and is expected to intern a minimum of 8-10 hours per week in order to obtain one unit of credit for this class. The course is graded on a Credit/No-Credit basis.

Requirements:

To receive registration clearance for BUAD-495, you must submit this application a minimum of one day before before the add deadline. If you satisfy all of the requirements, you will be given D-clearance by 5pm. If you submit the application after 5pm, you will be given D-clearance the following business day. It is your responsibility to register for the course after D-clearance is given.

International Students

International students who have a paid internship offer must register for BUAD 495 and also apply for CPT work authorization from the Office of International Services. To be in compliance with immigration regulations, the internship must be considered an integral part of a student’s degree program; therefore, successful completion of BUAD 495 is required. Receiving a “no credit” or “no pass” grade in or withdrawing from BUAD 495 will result in ineligibility for future CPT.

This course is currently only open to Marshall majors and minors. If you are not a Marshall student and wish to register for the course, please contact the Marshall Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs Office during the second week of the term you wish to take the course to check course availability.
